PORTLAND, Ore. — El Hempe, a new brand of terpene-infused agave tequila seltzers, is now available at select beverage retailers throughout Oregon and California, according to El Hempe CEO Tony Bash.
“We’re excited to announce distribution in two key states,” Bash said. “While there are other tequila seltzers on the market, El Hempe is the first to offer the essence of cannabis in a spirit without THC. We expect this to be very popular in the RTD market, especially among younger drinkers.”
PORTLAND, Ore. — The canned spirits are available in three flavors:Lemon-Lime OG Kush (5% abv), Mixed Berry OG Kush (5% abv) and Hibiscus DurbanPoison (8% abv). Although the essence of cannabis is apparent immediately aftera can is opened, the seltzers contain no THC or CBD.
El Hempe scientists were able to match the scents andflavors of two strains of cannabis – OG Kush and Durban Poison – using non-cannabis botanicals, which deliver all the flavor without psychoactive properties.

LOS ANGELES, Cal. — El Hempe, a new brand of terpene-infused agave tequila seltzers, recently announced that it’s launching soon in California and Oregon.
This is just the latest weed twist we’ve seen on alcoholic beverages since people started adding actual cannabis-derived terpenes to beer years ago, or food-grade terps in hopes of creating a cannabis smell. As the new wave of energy around boozy seltzers hit, cannabis would also be ready to catch that train. But El Hempe looks to capitalize on some of the excitement without THC or CBD.
